My New Hairstyle from Redken | Graduated Layer

Friday, January 27, 2012

My hair was too long. The ends were so dry. I couldn't even reach the ends of my hair when I conditioned it. And so when I decided I had enough of it, I went into Redken Salon in Summit to have my hair trimmed. I didn't want a thin hair. I am too old for that.

If you're on your 30',s preferences when it comes to hairstyles should also change. All the more when you're nearing your 40's. Gosh, the reality has started sinking in already. :D

And so, I didn't want a layered hair that would be soo thin. The hairstylist suggested I did a graduated layer hair. And just trim it a little.

I agreed.

I got my new hairstyle... and if that wasn't enough, I asked about dying my hair. He suggested I try chocolate brown hair. If you know me and have seen my hair, you'd understand why I had to dye it. Everytime. It comes with age, you know. So please don't judge me. LOL.

The next day, I went back ready for my hair to be color-changed from dark brown into chocolate brown hair. I had a think-grained hair because of too much coloring. So he had to lighten my hair - which resulted to bronze red hair. And so the dyeing started. Took him 4 hours to do my hair. I was almost late for my function.

Since my hair was so dry, he gave me a product that would smoothen it. Redken Smooth Down shampoo and conditioner. I also got a replacement for my L'Oreal hair serum. This time it's from Redken.

To lighten my hair plus color it chocolate brown cost me my husband almost 300RM. :D But I did like the service. They didn't really push their products. The hubs had to ask for it. Hehehe.

And so, this was my before hair:

This was my after hair:

My just below-the-shoulder chocolate brown graduated hairstyle:

The after hair was a bit messy coz of the wind outside. But this is just to give you an idea of what graduated hairstyle is. I like it... especially now that it has grown a little.

Which hairstle do you prefer? The long, dark brown layered hair or the just-below-the shoulder chocolate brown graduated hair?
