To shave or not to shave... that is the question.
This has been an on-going discussion in one of my groups in facebook. Okay.. shaving the armpit is not a question at all as most (if not all), do shave the hair in the armpits. At least, in the Philippines, almost all the women do.
Although in some countries like Czech Republic, it's a taboo to shave their armpits. I know because I had a guest in my house from Czech Republic once and I asked her about it... well, not exactly directly.
Here's the story. She came and stayed in our house. She did shower everyday. But I wasn't sure whether she was using deodorant or not, but everytime she was closed by, I could smell something different. Or maybe, my sense of smell was just very sensitive. I really wasn't sure.
And one thing I noticed was she would wear sleeveless tops everyday. And to my surprise one day, while I was talking to her, she brushed her fingers on her hair. There, I saw... a very thick bush under her arms.
I was the one who felt embarrassed. I thought because she was on back-packing, she forgot to take her razor with her.And so the next day, I bought a disposable razor and told her, she could use it.
Then I had it.
She laughed, embarrassed.
She said, in her country, they don't shave their armpits. But they do shave their legs.
So to shave or not to shave, is a cultural thing and a preference for some, I should say. Although there's an explanation why some women leave their armpit hair and pubic hair alone, but other would have reasons why they shave both the underarm hair and pubic hair.
Some women feel it's un-hygienic to grow hair down there. Some would just trim it. Some would shave it. Others feel the hair have a special purpose why they're there... so why shave them away?
I use hair removal cream. I use Veet. And I have been using Veet for a few years now. I avoid the risk of accidental cuts. I find it easier for me to use cream than shaving it.
What about you?
Do you shave? Do you trim? Or just leave your secret places bushy?

3 and you speak, too:
i trim it but i'm contemplating and really thinking of shaving it bald... but i know when the hair grows back, it's gonna be one heck of an itch to scratch! hehehe... visiting you here thru TBE!

first of all, eeeewe to the pic on the display, while i am aware some cultures find this beautiful- i still can't get myself to appreciate that.
As for me, i wax since it stays hair free for a longer stretch than shaving, plus it makes my armpit smoother and fairer.
