An Early Birthday Gift

Yesterday was the first day of the year. We set out to my brother-in-law's for our family's New Year dinner. Each family prepared a dish or two. There was roast turkey. That has been a tradition in the family. Roast turkey for either Christmas dinner or New Year's dinner. I prepared baked potatoes loaded with butter and cheese. Champagne was served, to toast for a great 2011. (Why am I writing about food? LOL)



Anyways, after the dinner, we all sat at the living room just to chill out and have some laughs. The kids started opening their gifts... and me? I didn't expect anything but my nephew handed me a box.

I waited until the kids opened theirs. Samantha got a pretty dress from Girl2Girl, bought by my brother-in-law all the way from London. My boy got a -what else- Ben 10 water tumbler. I was telling then how I loved Samantha's dress when my brother-in-law said I would love mine better. My eyes then darted toward the box, slowly touched my hand on it, started unraveling what's inside. And yes, to my surprise and it really was a pleasant surprise, right before my eyes, I saw...

Banana Republic.

A Perfume.

It's not just eu de cologne. It's parfum! Wow. It's my birthday gift. I got my first birthday gift on the first day of the year. How exciting and how blessed I am.



I guess everybody in my family knows my favorite perfume of all times is Banana Republic. It's just hard to find it. My brother-in-law said it took him one week to find it. LOL.
